Promotion Tracking Activities
An exception to the normal ability to advance in ranks is
being a Tanelorn Helper. These individuals are given regular
tasks to be performed that assist with various parts of the
Clan's management. Most of these will likely deal with the
tracking of promotion points.
These individuals advance in rank once per month until
they have reached Peacekeeper so long as they have their
duties performed for the month. Failure to perform their
required duties will result in a recalculation of their
rank based on normal points and dropped to the appropriate
rank as necessary.
Inactivity & Demotion Qualifications
Tanelorn has specific rules that are expected to be
followed by all members. While specific punishments for
breaking those rules will always be decided on a
case-by-case basis as always, a temporary demotion
to Wanderer will be involved at all times.
This has not changed.
Additionally, members must remain active to retain their rank.
At the very least this means staying online, but generally it
will also involve actually BEING ACTIVE! Being inactive for
excessive amounts of time will cause the loss of ranks,
one at a time, until they reach the rank of Brother/Sister.
Being inactive for a year or longer will result in a drop
to Wanderer regardless of rank.
Basically, after so many months inactive at a certain rank,
a member gets demoted.
If a member has not gotten their required points needed
to be promoted when their time requirement is fullfilled
they stay at their current rank, if that member is an
active player.

One can not drop below Brother/Sister strictly for
inactivity unless they have been offline for a full
year. (And even Peacekeepers will go directly to
Wanderer for being offline/inactive for that long!)
Extended Inactivity Grace
The times given above are for members who have earned their points in
passive or "easy" ways. (powerups, levels,tiers, being an advisor/helper, etc)
Members who achieve fairly big milestones or have
accomplished some major achievements for Tanelorn within
the last year can be inactive for twice as long without
incurring rank penalities.
NOTE: Being offline for an entire year will still result
in a drop to Wanderer!
Some examples that can give a tanelornian extended grace
periods include, but are not strictly limited to:
- Staying within the Top 100 of any ranking.
- Exceeding 90% of the mud explored.
- Giving a public dissertation within the last year.
- Participating and helping to run the Tanelornian Festival,
or Tanelorn's participation in a more general Inter-Clan fair,
within the last year.
- Reaching Tier 9.
